Despite the lockdown (scheduled to end on May 3rd) for COVID-19, banks are not closed, but opening hours may be limited. Most banks are currently being operated for only four hours between 10 am and 2 pm.
It is useful to know when then banks are closed, so you can plan any necessary transactions in advance and withdraw cash early to avoid empty ATMs.
This month there is the usual weekend holidays of all Sundays and every other Saturday, and a collection of holidays celebrated at a state level. In total, banking services are affected in some manner on 14 out of the 31 days in May 2020.
