The Government of Sindh has announced six-days of Public Holidays from May 22nd to May 27th 2020 on the occasion of Holy Festival Eid-Ul-Fitr according to a notification issued by Services, General Administration & Coordination Department. This is in line with the public holidays announced by the Federal Government.

The notification says: “The Government of Sindh are pleased to declare 22nd to 27th May 2020 (Friday to Wednesday) as Public Holidays on the occasion of Holy Festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr 2020 throughout the province of Sindh for all Government Offices, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporation and Local Council under Administrative Control of Government of Sindh, except essential services and the departments and offices engaged in prevention and control of Coronavirus emergency.”

For Muslims, Eid-Ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It’s a joyful holiday when the faithful celebrate 29 or 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting.
