The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced Friday April 10th and Monday April 13th 2020 as public holidays to mark the Easter celebrations in the country.
Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior, made the announcement in a statement by Georgina Ehuriah, the permanent secretary, ministry of interior.
Calling for support for the government in the fight against COVID-19, the minister urged people to keep to the guidelines given by the Federal Government which includes sanitization, social distancing etc.
Good Friday occurs on the Friday before Easter. The day commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus.
Easter is probably the most important holiday of the Christian year, celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus.
