St. Kitts & Nevis declares public holiday for Culturama

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has released a proclamation officially declaring a public holiday on Tuesday August 6th 2019 for Culturama.

The proclamation states “It is notified for general information that His Excellency The Governor-General Sir S W Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, on the advice of the Cabinet has by Proclamation declared Tuesday 6 Aug., 2019 to be observed as a Public Holiday on the occasion of the celebration of Culturama.”

Always observed on the day following Emancipation Day (first Monday in August), Culturama first began in 1974 and is a festival that highlights the cultural heritage of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
