Eid Al Adha 2019 to begin in UAE on August 11th

The crescent moon marking the start of Zul Hijjah , the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday August 1st 2019.

As Friday August 2nd will be the first day of Zul Hijjah, Eid Al Adha will begin on August 11th.

Public and private sector employees in the United Arab Emirates will enjoy holidays from Saturday August 10th (Zul Hijjah 9) until Tuesday August 13th (Zul Hijjah 12)., confirming the previous announcement by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources .

Eid Al Adha, known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, is the second of the two major Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It honours the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
