Pakistan to observe a Public Holiday on Oct. 30

The federal government of Pakistan has announced a public holiday on Friday October 30th for Milad un Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A notification has been issued by the ministry of interior on Monday. The Sindh government had already announced a public holiday on October 30.

Mosques, private, government and semi-government buildings and streets are have already been illuminated with lights and buntings for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi across the country.

Also commonly known as ‘Milad un Nabi’, this day is observed as a public holiday in many countries with a large Muslim population as it commemorates the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Islam and the proclaimer of the Qurʾan.
