In a statement issued by the Egyptian Cabinet, it has been announced that Thursday August 20th 2020 will be a public holiday to mark the new Islamic Hijri year 1442.
According to the statement, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree setting Thursday (the first day of the Islamic month of Muharram) as a paid holiday for all employees in ministries, state institutions, and public enterprise companies.
