Although we are still in the first half of 2020, given the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s probably not a bad idea to look forward to the holidays for next year.
The Galician Government have announced the working calendar for 2021. There will be a total of 11 work-free days observed across this north-western region of Spain, with two of the days falling on a weekend – Labour Day and Christmas Day both fall on a Saturday.
In total, citizens can enjoy six long weekends. If they use a vacation day on October 11th, they can also enjoy a four-day mini break as National Day falls on a Tuesday next year.
The holidays agreed for next year at the community level will be:
Friday, January 1st, New Year; Wednesday, January 6th, Epiphany; Friday March 19th, San José; April 1st, Holy Thursday; April 2nd, Good Friday; Saturday, May 1st, Labour Day; Monday May 17th, Galician Literature Day; Tuesday October 12th, National Day of Spain; Monday, November 1st, All Saints; Monday, December 6th, Day of the Spanish Constitution; Wednesday December 8th, Day of the Immaculate Conception; Saturday, December 25th, Christmas Day.
