Authorities in Kuwait have announced the public holidays that began on March 12th will be extended to May 28th, with work resuming on May 31st, state news agency KUNA said.
Commercial passenger flights are halted and all educational institutions in Kuwait will remain shut. All theatres, hotels and halls have been directed to be closed
Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Anas Al-Saleh, said: “The public and private sectors’ holiday will be extended from April 26th until May 28th, and work will resume on Sunday, May 31st.”
The Cabinet also extended the curfew hours across the country from 4pm until 8am, although restaurants and food stores are allowed to make home deliveries from 5pm to 1am.
KUNA added that entities providing vital services would remain open.
Note that the holidays will now extend over the Eid il-Fitr holidays scheduled for May 24th.
