Ghana declares Friday December 6th as Public Holiday

In a statement issued by the Minister of the Interior, Ambrose Dery MP, the General Public was reminded that Friday December 6th 2019, which marks FARMERS DAY, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

Farmers Day in Ghana is observed on the first Friday in December.

Since it was introduced by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in 1988, the first Friday in December has been set aside to honour farmers and fishermen for their efforts in feeding the nation and recognise the vital contributions of a strong agricultural sector to the prosperity of the Ghanaian economy.
