November and December 2019 Bank Holidays in India

After the disruption to banking operations in October due to Durga Puja, Dussehra and Diwali, 2019 draws to a quieter close with less major holidays and festivals bringing the shutters down on banks in India.

However, it is still useful to know when then banks are closed, so you can plan any necessary transactions in advance and withdraw cash early to avoid empty ATMs.

The main weekday when banking services will be affected is Tuesday November 12th when the full moon heralds Guru Nanak Jayanti, Rahasa Purnima and Kartika Purnima.

As usual, the banks will be closed on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays in the month.

Before then, if you are in Bengaluru or Shillong, banks will remain shut on November 1st and November 8th on account of Kannada Rajyostsava/Kut and Wangala Festival respectively.

In December, there are selection of holiday through the month but all limited to one state at a time. The only significant holiday comes near the end of the month on Wednesday December 25th, Christmas Day, which is observed by almost all Indian states.
