The Pahang state government has announced July 30th and July 31st 2019 as public holidays in the state for Agong’s Birthday and Coronation.
In a media statement, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail explained that the annual holiday for Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah’s birthday was on July 30th, which is the same day as the installation of the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong
“As two different events fall on the same day, the state government has decided to give a public holiday on both days as a sign of the importance of the event,” he said in the statement.
Wan Rosdy said the matter was agreed at a meeting of the State Executive Council on June 12th.
“Hopefully with this, the people of Pahang will be able to appreciate and use the two days of public holidays accordingly”, Wan Rosdy added.
