Indian Bank Holidays in February 2025

Indian public and private banks will be closed on 14 days including the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays in February 2025, owing to festivals.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks remain closed on all public holidays but there are some holidays that are regional, i.e. restricted to certain states only. Regional holidays are decided by respective state governments.

  • February 2: Sunday
  • February 3: Banks will remain closed in Agartala owing to Saraswati pooja
  • February 8: Second Saturday
  • February 9: Sunday
  • February 11: Regional Holiday, banks in Chennai will remain closed
  • February 12: Holiday in Himachal Pradesh due to Sant Ravi Das’s Birthday
  • February 15: Regional Holiday, banks in Imphal will remain closed
  • February 16: Sunday
  • February 19: Banks in Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur will be closed owing to celebrations connected with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birthday
  • February 20: Banks in Aizawl and Itangar will be closed due to State Day
  • February 22: Fourth Saturday
  • February 23: Sunday
  • February 26: Maha Shiva Rathri – banks in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed
  • February 28: Banks in Gangtok will be closed owing to Losar – festival associated with Tibetan New Year
