Hong Kong Announces Public Holidays for 2024

According to a government announcement on Thursday May 25th 2023, workers will enjoy 17 public holidays next year, with four long weekends.

A Government spokesman said, “As the second day of Lunar New Year in 2024 falls on a Sunday, the fourth day of Lunar New Year will be designated as a general holiday in substitution.”

Public Holidays in Hong for 2024 with FREE calendar subscription and year planner

Separately, statutory holidays in Hong Kong will be increased progressively to 17 days from 2022 to 2030. The newly added statutory holiday from this year onwards is the first weekday after Christmas Day, totaling 14 statutory holidays.

The other three additional statutory holidays in sequence will be Easter Monday (from 2026), Good Friday (from 2028), and the day following Good Friday (from 2030).
