Ghana declares a public holiday on Sept. 21

The Ghanian Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has announced Tuesday September 21st 2021, as a public holiday.

The general public is hereby informed that  Tuesday, 21st September, 2021 which marks  Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

This holiday commemorates the birthday of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President.

Dr. Nkrumah was the driving force behind the independence of Ghana from British rule and founded the Convention People’s Party (CPP).
