The observation of the Prophet’s birthday gives residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a three-day weekend next week.
The UAE Federal Authority For Government Human Resources has confirmed that the Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) Birthday will be celebrated on Thursday October 29th 2020.
This means a one-day holiday will be observed for federal government employees, who will also have the benefit of a long weekend.
Official working hours will resume on Sunday November 1st 2020.
Also commonly known as ‘Milad un Nabi’, this day is observed as a public holiday in many countries with a large Muslim population as it commemorates the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Islam and the proclaimer of the Qurʾan.
