The Philippines has declared regular holidays and non-working days for 2021 through a proclamation signed by President Rodrigo Duterte.
The Labor Code of the Philippines specifies two types of holidays: the ‘regular holiday’ and the ‘special non-working day’. There is a difference in the pay that employers are required to pay between the two type of holidays.
The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eid’l Fitr (End of Ramadan), and Eid’l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), will be issued after the approximate days of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations.
