The Minister “called on the Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country especially as the world is witnessing global health challenges caused by Covid-19 pandemic,” the statement read.
The minister asked the Muslim to use this year’s celebration to pray for peace and unity in the country and also for stability in this crisis.
He, therefore, asked them to practice all the measures put in place to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus during the celebration.
Eid-el Kabir is the Feast of Sacrifice and the most important feast in the Muslim calendar. It celebrates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in submission to Allah’s command, before he was stopped by Allah.
