Baisakhi gazetted holiday moved by one day in Punjab


The Punjab Government has declared a gazetted holiday on April 13th, 2020 on the eve of the Baisakhi instead of April 14th.

An official spokesperson of the government said that as per notification issued by the Personnel Department, all the government offices, boards, corporations, and educational institutions within the jurisdiction of the state of Punjab will remain closed on April 13th, 2020.

The Spokesperson added that gazetted holiday on April 14th, 2020 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, will remain unchanged.

Baisakhi is one of the most important festivals for Sikhs and is marked by the millions of Sikhs in India and around the world.
