In a notice on the Ministry of Communications website. Her Excellency, President Paula-Mae Weekes, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Holidays and Festivals Act, has announced that Sunday October 27th 2019 is the date of the public holiday in celebration of the festival of Divali.
The convention is that when a public falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is a holiday. Despite this convention we understand that Monday October 28th 2019 will not be a public holiday in Trinidad and Tobago as the holiday doesn’t fall on a set date and was ‘to be announced’ (TBA) on the government’s website.
