FG declares Christmas and New Year public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday 25th December, Wednesday 26th December 2018 and Tuesday 1st January 2019 as Public Holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year Celebrations, respectively.

Minister of Interior, Lt. General (Retd.) Abdulrahman Dambazau, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Press, Mohammed Manga on Wednesday 19th December.

Dambazau asked that all Christian faithful and Nigerians use the period to pray for the betterment and development of Nigeria.

He further called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain peace and unity in the country before, during and after the 2019 general elections, in the spirit of the season.
