Myanmar sets public holiday dates for Eid ul-Adha

In Myanmar, Eid ul-Adha will be observed on 13th Waxing of Second Waso in 1382 ME (August 1st 2020), meaning it will fall on a Saturday which is the regular non-working day of government offices.

Therefore Friday July 31st July will become a holiday, with July 31st and August 1st being proclaimed as public holidays under the Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Acts.

Eid ul-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice is the most important feast in the Muslim calendar. It celebrates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ishmael in submission to Allah’s command, before he was stopped by Allah.
