Despite the nationwide lockdown, banks are not closed, but opening hours may be limited.

It is useful to know when then banks are closed, so you can plan any necessary transactions in advance and withdraw cash early to avoid empty ATMs.

This month there is the usual weekend holidays of all Sundays and every other Saturday, and a collection of holidays celebrated at a state level. In total, banking services are affected in some manner on 16 out of the 30 days in April 2020.

On a wider basis, the month begins with banks in most states closing for Ram Navami, then many observing Mahavir Jayanti on the first Monday.

The next weekend is preceded by Good Friday and almost all banks will be closed on Tuesday April 14th for a combination of several holidays including Dr. Ambedkar’s birthday and various solar new years.
